Breaking News: Tess and Thorn Break Up UPDATED

Tess and Thorn have announced their needlepoint design company has evolved into two different companies: Brooke Thorn McGowan is now thorn alexander while Tess Nagle is now Tess Kvale at Pewter and Pine Needlepoint Design.  I haven't found websites yet but it's early to have all that set up.

UPDATE:  Pewter and Pine Needlepoint Design has a Facebook page.

I wish both designers great success as they grown and change.

Simple Ornament Finishing

If you want to try simple ornament finishing for yourself, Needlepoint for Fun has just posted a tutorial that takes you through the process step by step.

It's even interesting to read if you never plan to do any of your own finishing.  It helps you understand the ways a finisher does their magic to turn a piece of stitching into a completed object.  Of course this is just the basics.  Ornament finishing can be done without glue, finished flat, finished rounded like here, done with fancy trims or bows, or done with a boxed edge.  The possibilities are endless but this is a nice way to understand how it is done in a very basic fashion.
