Cure for Streaky Perle Cotton Stitches

Mary Agnes at Needle Nicely has a great tip for avoiding the streaky look you sometimes get with perle cotton threads.

Very clever, MA!  I think you just won today's Smart Cookie Award.

I also do this with all slippery and ribbon type threads but especially with Panache, Soie Perlee, Gloriana Princess Perle, Neon Rays, Neon Rays +, and silk ribbon. It helps to keep the thread from abrading but also preserves my sanity with slippery threads by keeping them on the needle.
