The Wedding Monogram Pillow

I was browsing Little Bird Designs today because I like their style and was hoping they had new designs posted for Dallas already (I love the planned phoenix series!), when I stumbled across this custom wedding monograph pillow designed for newly weds by Michelle, the Little Bird herself.
http://www.needlepointofnoreturn.com/custom-wedding-pillow/

I think it is beautiful and will be a meaningful gift--and perhaps a family heirloom--for decades to come.

Natasha's Feet UPDATED

Natasha's Needlepoint (which is a shop located on Pawleys Island in South Carolina), just posted a series of seven unusual Christmas ornaments on their Facebook page.  The ornaments are all feet!  Reindeer, Santa, elves, gingerbread men, Mrs. Santa--you name it!  They are beautifully stitched and Christmas charming to the max.  I don't know if these are a club or who the designer is but they are terrific.

Christmas in August is so much fun!

UPDATE:  Thanks to Martin's sharp eyes I know that the ornaments are all from the Elizabeth Turner Collection, and the guides are probably all from Meredith Willett.  Thank you, Martin!

Two New Silk Braids

Mary Corbet talks about Soie Tressage, which is Au Ver A Soie's new Satouche and flat braid lines, both very small and elegant silk trims that have multiple applications in needlework and finishing.
http://www.needlenthread.com/2015/08/thread-talk-soie-tressage-satouche-flat-braid.html

I suspect this new line has been spurred by the new interest in making reproduction 17th Century caskets and mirrors as there are many ways to use it in creating the decorative stumpwork that adorns these beauties.  However, there are many other ways to use these new trims such as their use in jewelry making.  Do look at her link to a Pinterest page of such things as it is full of ideas we can crib for our needlepoint.

Thanks once again, Mary!

Making 18th Century Trim

Some of us probably are interested in graduating from making twisted cord to more elaborate trims.  This link is for you.  It describes how silk trim is made in Williamsburg using 18th Century techniques.  I'm not certain I could make similar trim following the videos but they certainly as fascinating to watch.

Ultrasuede

Orna Willis is now selling larger Ultrasuede fabric sets.
http://ornadesign.blogspot.com/2015/08/ta-da-ultimate-ultrasuede-collection.html

You can get one from her Etsy shop, where she sells smaller pieces in collections as well.  If you do your own finishing, this is a very valuable resource.  Do make note that Orna's Ultrasuede comes to both the lightweight and upholstery weight types.  The lightweight is very easy to sew in hand but I find the upholstery weight much tougher, even for my old Singer sewing machine.  But with that caveat, if you want to pick up colorful bits of Ultrasuede for your finishing, this is a great resource.

Light Coverage Stitching: Where and Why

Mary Legallet's latest Whimsical Stitch blog entry talks about light coverage stitching, which she calls "open work."  Mary explains how it took her a while to see the value of light coverage and explains where she uses it and why.  It's the clearest explanation I've read of this technique and worth exploring if you have always hated canvases that are naked.  Mary may get you to rethink using this technique--in some situations, at least.
http://www.whimsicalstitch.com/whimsicalwednesdays/2015/8/19/open-sesame

I personally love the ease of using stitches and/or threads that don't cover to show off intricate painting, like a sky.  My current piece has a stormy sky in blended shades of gray, blue, green, white and yellow, which would be impossible to capture except by using open stitches that allow the stunning colors to show.

Blog News

I've been rearranging things over at the Chilly Hollow Stitch Guides blog and decided I would create a tab that lists all the shops I know about that will do a free guide for customers.

Hopefully this will make it easier for folks who want a guide for a canvas to find a shop to help them out.  Of course I don't have every shop that will do a guide for a canvas listed, so if I missed one, please let me know by adding a Comment below or emailing me at sgfromchnp at gmail.com.

Let's Do Facebook, Part Three

The last posting about Facebook is just a link to a nice tutorial on setting up and managing a FB account.   It's a lot better than mine, which was just to let you know something about how FB works in case you want to open an account.  Have fun!

Let's Do Facebook, Part Two

Now that you have a Facebook account, let's talk about how it works.  Facebook was created by and for millennials who are comfortable sharing every aspect of their lines online. If you are old school like me--or just plain OLD, also like me--you don't want everything you say spread everywhere.  How do you prevent the photo of that clever birthday present you bought your spouse from being seen by everyone and their brother?

The answer is don't post the photo on Facebook.  The way FB is set up, anything you post is public to some extent.  It is easier to manage seeing what other people post than it is to manage what YOU post.  Anything you post that only your friends can see can also be seen by anyone they've friended.

What is "friended"?  This is the way Facebook allows you to create networks of friends, family and folks with similar interests.  You send friend requests, and if someone knows you or wants to know you, they will accept these requests.  You will begin to get friend requests also.  (I don't accept any friend requests if I don't know the person in real life or have not known them for years via the Internet as I don't like to be bombarded with Buy My Sunglasses or Porn links.)  Soon you will see a list of friends on your profile page.  (Hint:  To get to your profile page, click on your name at the top of the page when you are logged into FB.)

Soon you will see notices of postings by your friends when you log into FB and are on your Home page.  There will be a feed of postings in the middle of the page.  (Click on Home at the top of the page when you are logged into FB.)  You'll also see a list of the groups you below to, if any, on the left side of the Home page.  If you want to visit a group, click on its name there and you will leave Home and head there.  (Remember, this is how Facebook works on desktops and laptops.  Mobile devices are different.)

Want to join a group?  Use the search bar at the top of every page to hunt for subject matter like "needlepoint."  The last time I counted there were well over 50 groups with needlepoint in their name.  One of those groups, large or small, may be right for you.  Find a group you are interested in and click on the Join button at the top of their page to be considered.

By the way, when you use the search function looking for names or groups, they will be sorted into categories such as Top, People, Photos, Pages, etc.  Click on People and the search results will be just people named Needlepoint.  Click on Pages and you will find business profiles like needlepoint shops with "needlepoint" in their name.  Click on More, then choose Groups to find needlepoint groups.  (Once again, this is how computers work, not smart phones or tablets.)

The largest group for needlepoint is the one I accidentally started over four years ago.  Its official name is Needlepoint (I know, very original, but when I set the group up there were NO groups or anything else with the name Needlepoint) so that's what you look for to join.  Its nickname is Needlepoint Nation but Facebook won't let me change the name to NP Nation.  We are stuck with plain old Needlepoint.  Oh, well....

One last thing and we'll stop for now.  Facebook has two types of profiles--those for real people and those for businesses.  You can tell them apart because your FB account can Follow real people but only can Like businesses.  This is important because FB thinks it is important.  If you are a shop setting up a FB account for your business, make sure you don't accidentally choose a personal profile.  If FB notices, it will make you change to a business profile and will delete your personal profile.  This is important in another way in that FB doesn't allow business profiles to join groups.  This means in practical terms that a shop owner cannot join a needlepoint group except with their personal profile.  Periodically we at NP Nation have members whose account is deleted by Facebook when FB realizes they are using a personal profile for business purposes.  You also need to realize that FB absolutely hates any personal profile that doesn't use your real name.  If you set up a personal account called Sally Needlepointer on FB to keep your personal account separate from your stitching and someone reports it, FB will demand you show ID with that name or they will also delete your account.  The chances you will be caught are fairly small, but....

Next time we'll talk about a tutorial.

Let's Do Facebook, Part One

I'm sure you've noticed how much needlepoint information is ending up on Facebook these days.  Many shops announce sales and trunk shows there and post photographs of customer's stitching on their shop FB page.   Some shops don't even have a website, just a FB page.  Designers are showing off their latest goods via Facebook now instead of updating their website.  Many of the updates I post about the newest items that will be available at the upcoming trade shows are on Facebook these days.

I try my best to find a FB link that will be visible to those without a FB account but that's often not possible.  Not everyone wants to bother with FB, but if you do, I've listed the steps you need to take to sign up for an account.  Be warned:  these steps only work for desktops and laptops.  Facebook is set up totally differently on mobile devices like smart phones and tablets and the steps you take to set up and secure an account are much harder to do with these devices in my opinion.  If you plan to use FB on a mobile device, I suggest you set up your account on your desktop or laptop, then once things are going, use the mobile device to check in.

1)  Go to Facebook.com and fill out the Sign Up information on the page.  You'll need to provide a name and email address but you can set up a free email account via Google or Hotmail or Yahoo just for this purpose if you prefer.  They also ask for a phone number.  I didn't provide this information and I didn't give them my real birth date either.  I just don't like letting Facebook have information about myself.  I'm a throwback in that I don't like the constant tracking online these companies like to do.  I was never fond of Big Brother.  What you do here is up to you but I recommend handing over the minimum of information.

You will be asked for a password. DO NOT use a password you have used elsewhere or in the past.  I suggest you use a password generator like the one below and that you change it every month.  This keeps folks from guessing your password (which is easy if you use your birthday or family and pet names, etc.) and hijacking your account.
http://passwordsgenerator.net

If you don't like the randomness of password generators, look around the room where you normally sit while going online and use something there, mixed with numbers and symbols, as your password. You might use Barca-lounger8, for example.  Or maybe cherrid3sk for the cherry roll top desk in your office.  You get the idea.

Now that you have your account, Facebook will walk you through a little series of steps to add information about yourself to the account.  You can ignore all this and I did.  This is getting a little long so next I'll talk about how Facebook works and then help you lock down the account so it is secure and as private as possible.

Is Your Finishing Missing? UPDATED

Are you a former customer of the now closed Art of Needlepoint? I've heard that West Coast Finishing and TJ Designs Needlepoint Finishing both have finishing sent to them by the shop, so if you are looking for your finishing, please contact them to see if they have your stitching.  Here is West Coast Finishing's website.

TJ Designs doesn't have a website but you can reach them via their Facebook page.

UPDATE:  Note that Art of Needlepoint was a shop and is not to be confused with The Art Needlepoint Company, the online distributor of giclee printed canvases featuring designs from famous and new artists!  Art Needlepoint is open for business!

It's Five O'Clock Somewhere

Remember No Flying Monkeys?  The charming canvas from Point of It All Designs I blog-stitched here last spring?  I just heard from Hyla Hurley of POIA that it is framed now and ready to make a debut at the Destination Dallas show.

Want to see?

Ok.   Hyla propped it on her couch and took a photo.

Close your eyes.  Count to three.

One

Two

Three

Here we go....

Canvas with Martini Glasses Ready

Surprise!

Enjoy this cutie and the fun way it is made up.    I think it's time to open that bottle of champagne I've had put away for a while and christen those martini glasses.

Here's to stitchers and designers everywhere!  If you are a shop owner going to Destination Dallas, visit the Point of It All Designs suite to see this in person.  I expect plenty of toasts to fun to be made in Dallas, people.

If you are new to blog and missed the fun, here's the link to all the steps of stitching this fun piece.  By the way, the guide comes with the canvas, but if you got the canvas before the guide was finished, just email me at chillyhollow at hotmail dot com and I'll send it to you free.)

Three Dog Couch

Ridgewood Needlepoint is showing off dog pillows and an ornament for their Friday Finishing posting. The pillows are all finished differently but they look magnificent together on the shop couch.
http://ridgewoodneedlepoint.blogspot.com/2015/08/finishing-friday_14.html

That's partly because the dog pillows are all from Labors of Love, who also have created the cat designs you'll see down at the bottom of Ridgewood's page.  I've seen custom dog portraits done in the same style that are gorgeous.
http://www.laborsofloveneedlepoint.com/cats-and-dogs.html

I wish I knew who created the black lab ornament because it is lovely, very well stitched and finished and a good design to boot!

Makes me want to get another dog, or at least stitch one.

Hand Health

Sharp-eyed Wendy noticed this article from Nordic Needle about hand health and passed it along to me.  Not much is worse than developing arthritis or repetitive stress injuries that keep us from our stitching so I hope you'll read through the article and use the tips to minimize problems.

I will add this link to the Health Section on Blog in the right hand column so you can always find it again.  Everyone stitch safely!

One Fat Caterpillar

Kimberly is stitching some of her small designs to use for a class at Black Sheep in Orlando.   She wanted to use a certain thread but it's been discontinued.  So she had to improvise and came up with rows of bullions in two colors of Petite Very Velvet.  Looks like one big fat caterpillar!
http://akimberlydesign.blogspot.com/2015/08/more-bullions.html

The moral of the story is when you can't do what you planned, get creative.  You never know what fun things you'll come up with.

Here's a bit about the class, just in case you will be in Orlando this fall or winter.

Blacks and Blues

Today I have two articles for you--one about a new silk line that the Needleart Nut is going to stitch with (blacks) and the other a different color ways for a Debbie Rowley (DebBee's Designs) that Jan took (the blues although it probably should be called aquas).

Pat at the Needleart Nut read about Silk Mill in Needlepoint Now magazine and had to try some! Here is what she ordered--
http://needleartnut.blogspot.com/2015/08/something-new.html

This is the Silk Mill website. I highly recommend you sign up for their newsletter as they run specials from time to time that are announced there.
http://www.thesilkmill.com

Jan took a class from Debbie Rowley and changed the colors entirely.  She lists what she used for "Criss Cross" here.  It's lovely!
https://stitchlady.wordpress.com/2015/08/08/criss-cross-finished/

Here are the original color ways from the class.  It's not available as a chart yet but perhaps after Debbie finishes teaching it she will release it and you can use Jan's colors to create your own Blues.

Joan Rivers' Dog Pillows

Thanks to the sharp eyes of the team from Needlepoint For Fun, I can show you Joan Rivers' pug pillows.  Her NYC apartment has been sold.  When you look at the slide show, photos 10 and 11 show needlepoint pillows, although I think some of the dog pillows might be fabric instead of needlepoint.

Small Book Reviews

The latest e-newsletter from Michelle at Come to the Point has several mini reviews of a new book from Carolyn Hedge Baird (Teeny Tiny Needlepoint Stitches) and Michele Roberts's older book (Broad Stripes and Bright Stars).  Most stitches have heard of Carolyn but may not be aware just how talented Michele is.  Michele Roberts is a bit under the radar as she is primarily a teacher but her books often are paired with companion projects, which is particularly nice for those who want to do a sampler but don't want to do the designing themselves.  I think you'll enjoy hearing what Michelle has to say about their new books and their usefulness in finding small stitches for small spaces.

Jewelers Eye Loop

Red Owl Stash has a jewelers loop style magnifier to use for help seeing your canvas. I don't believe I've seen this style of magnifier before. It may not work for everyone but it sure looks cool!

They also have several styles of hand held magnifiers, useful if you want to search a canvas for missed stitches or are channeling Sherlock Holmes.  Just choose from the list on the left side of the page.

Want to Cruise on the Queen Mary?

If you ever wanted to sail on the Queen Mary and learn about embroidery from people trained by the Royal School of Needlework, do I have a deal for you!
http://www.foreverembroiderystudio.com/#!retreat/c2269

But you need to move quickly as the Queen Mary retreat sails September 21-27 at Long Beach.

UPDATE:  This isn't a real cruise, but classes held on the ship with off shop tours and fun included.  I don't know if you are allowed to stay on the boat but wouldn't this be the greatest pajama party ever?

"Both Lucy and Sarah are well versed in needlepoint (both apprenticed at the Royal School of Needlework) and can support anyone who wants to use needlepoint techniques during the 4 day design class. With the current trend to mix in elements of metal work or stumpwork into the needlepoint, I would argue that this is a great way to add more embellishments to needlepoint.
The 3 day design class is actually being done using a dyed needlepoint canvas. Drawn and woven on canvas is much easier than a fine linen, and adds a different dimension to the possibilities in a needlepoint.

The Queen Mary is permanantly docked, it does not leave for open waters."

Still sounds like the world's greatest party!  Wish I could be there to have all this fun and education on a wonderful setting.

Why You Should Not Buy Stitch Guides on eBay

The selling of copied stitch guides on eBay is going strong.  This is illegal and not ethical to boot.  This week Cynthia Thomas succeeded in having a sale of one of her stitch guides removed from eBay because the sale was of a copy that this seller has sold over and over again.

Also this week I've seen an eBay seller take photos from a hand painted canvas designer's blog, watermark the designer's photos with the eBay seller name, and use those photographs to sell several canvases. In this person's world, I guess if you put your name on it, it is yours.  This is not ethical either.  This is becoming such a problem that Ruth Schmuff has devoted an entire blog column to it.
http://www.notyourgrandmothersneedlepoint.com/2015/07/copyright.html

Tony Minieri's stitch guides are being sold from his new website as PDF files to help avoid copying as one buys the PDF file with the express understanding that it cannot be printed out and resold.
http://www.tonyminieri.com/kazoos-store/

Ever wonder why some shops won't sell a stitch guide unless you buy the canvas and/or threads at the same time?  The  rampant copying, sharing and sale of their guides has forced them to adopt this policy, as Amy Bunger explains in this interview.
http://chstitchguides.blogspot.com/2011/01/amy-bungers-stitch-guides-review.html

I would think long and hard about buying a stitch guide on eBay or Etsy.  Clues that the sale aren't legit--the seller isn't one of the shops with an eBay presence like Fireside, Bloomin' Stitches, Beth's Needlepoint or Nimble Needle.  Another red flag--the seller is fairly new with less than 100 sales.  Another clue--the seller's photographs are watermarked with the seller name and/or use photos that you've seen elsewhere to promote the sale.  A third clue--the guide is being sold by itself without the canvas.  (Usually if the canvas and guide are sold together, it's a legit sale.)

Of course there are certainly lots of eBay sellers with these clues that are legit.  I apologize to them right now but the thieves are giving you a bad name.  As a stitch guide writer myself, I am very worried that the sales of stolen guides will mean fewer guides are written.  Why go to all that work for naught?

If you stumble across a sale with more than one of these red flags however, be very careful.  If you buy a guide and when it arrives it is an obvious copy, please alert eBay and let the stitch guide author know the eBay seller name.

Actually, I'd like to see a boycott of stitch guide sales on eBay.  I know that's not realistic but the only way to stop the wholesale theft of stitch guides is to not buy them.  A thief won't steal what they can't resell.

Norden Crafts Online Needlework Show UPDATED

Norden Crafts will have an online needlework show for cross stitch, counted thread and counted canvaswork August 10-19.
http://nordencrafts.com/C-1418/Norden-Fall-Show-2015.aspx

They appear to be using their Facebook page (link below) to start promoting items that will be for sale.  I think you can buy directly but I'm not certain.
https://www.facebook.com/events/1430740907238096/

UPDATE: Sara Leigh says this--
"Norden sells wholesale only. However, this appears to be run in the same way that the Needlework Show, an online only show, is run. People can view the show and contact their local needlework shop or one of the ones listed as participating on Norden's show page to place their orders. It's the Consumer Information button: http://nordencrafts.com/C-1422/Consumer-Information.aspx. "

Many thanks, SL!

The Neglected Stitch (Split Stitch)

Mary Corbet talks us through split stitch in this wonderful tutorial. By the way, split stitch not only makes wonderful trees, limbs and stems, it makes terrific animal fur!  I'd suggest using a sharp needle, though, not our usual tapestry needle.  Mary's talking embroidery, after all, so she naturally uses a sharp but we needlepointers normally use blunt tip needles.

Today's Smart Cookie Award

Have you seen the skin color collection cards from Rainbow Gallery? For roughly $8 a card you get a selection of six silks that work for skin and lip tones.   (There are also a selection of Halloween and Christmas colors, too.)
http://www.homesteadneedlearts.com/product/splendor-designer-collection/

https://www.stitchingbitsandbobs.com/cgi-bin/Store/pageread.cgi?SDC

I've used these a lot when stitching people but recently I noticed how I use the same colors over and over so I run out of my favorites constantly, particularly when stitching a large design with lots of skin area.   I just ordered two new cards for myself and mentioned to a friend I had done so.  Her reply was genius--she uses the skin collection cards as a color card, matches the right shades to a painted canvas, and orders regular Splendor cards for actual stitching.  It's cheaper when you have a large area to cover as the regular cards of Splendor are roughly $3 each.

So the Smart Cookie Award goes to Pat.  You are so clever!

The Fun Free Sampler (Colour Complements)

Folks who want to try new stitches in a colorful sampler format have a lot to thank Lorraine of Colour Complements for this morning.  She's posted a free design in PDF form on her blog.  Here's a bit about it, including the canvas size you'll need.
http://colourcomplements.com/2015/07/needlepoint-stitch-sampler-3.html

Here's the direct link to the instructions.  All you need to do is grab a bunch of threads, your reference books (use hers or pick something from your local library or your own book collection) and start stitching in the lower left corner and work your way across to the right and then upwards.  Grab colors at random or plan ahead, it doesn't matter.  What matters is exploring threads and stitches to advance your knowledge for your more serious pieces, the ones you want to keep forever or give to a dear person in your life.  Have fun while you learn and play with color.
http://colourcomplements.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/needlepoint-stitch-summary.pdf

Here is her finished version, posted on Facebook.
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1470981229887632&set=gm.901968129880346&type=1&theater

Thanks, Lorraine!

By the way, Colour Complements is a Canadian hand-dyed thread company, just in case you want a special overdye for a new project, something that not everyone in your stitching circle will own.

Melissa Shirley Retired

No, Melissa isn't retiring (although I bet she needs a vacation!)--she is retiring some of her designs.  It used to be Melissa would paint anything she had designed but this is becoming impossible with the size of her catalogue and the work custom orders require.  So some things are going to be gone for good.  There is a section of her website that shows retired designs that are still in stock right now. But if you want something here, get a shop to order right away because there's no telling how many copies are left and when they are gone--well, they are GONE.

Get Yer Red Hot DoD Magnets Here!

Tapestry Fair has quietly added to the magnet and accessories part of their website. They now offer Day of the Dead magnets using Manuel Salas' artwork, and there is more!  Check out the cat magnets, for example, or the rose.   Peggi at Tapestry Fair says that Manuel "makes the bottlecap part and then sends them to me for glitter, resin, magnets and packaging. These are done like traditional Mexican folk art with much stronger magnets."

http://www.tapestryfair.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=97

Tapestry Fair offers little "bottle cap" style frames to showcase your favorite smaller magnet, magnetic bracelet cuffs so you can wear your favorite magnet, non-magnetic scissors fobs in case you don't want to magnetize your scissors, bracelets to wear your magnets and scissors fobs until you need them, and lots more fun things.  Have a good browse while I try and decide which Day of the Day magnet I "need"--MG-14 and MG-15 are my current favorites.  Which are yours?

Peggi, can we expect more Manual Salas ladies in the near future?

The Magna Carta (embroidery)

I didn't know that the Magna Carta's Wikipedia entry was embroidered last year in honor of the 799th anniversary of the signing of this important document.  You can read a bit more about it here and watch the short video here.
http://www.bl.uk/events/cornelia-parker-magna-carta-an-embroidery

Tracy Franklin worked on some of the illustrations along with other embroiders from Great Britain.  You can read a bit about their contributions here.

It's always fascinating to read about stitching that commemorates important parts of our history, then and now.  I hope you enjoy learning a bit about the philosophy behind this needle art piece.

Permission to Walk Away

Jo Christensen is touring shops, promoting the 2015 version of her Needlepoint book and giving classes. The class she did at Enriched Stitch in Connecticut is very interesting.  It gave Suzie permission to do something she should have done a long time ago.

Maybe you should follow Suzie's lead on something you have put away?

Trish Burr at the Royal School

Trish Burr was invited to teach a needle painting course at the Royal School of Needlework in Hampton Palace and once she got home to Australia, she reported in with a nice long essay about the experience and what she saw there. Luckily her daughter is a talented photographer, so this is a very fun report on teaching embroidery in a historical palace.

Why I Hate Google UPDATED

Blogger blogs owners are seeing the message below when they log into their blog.  Many European countries object to the way Google tracks and spies on users of their software and this is their attempt to try and rein the company in.

European Union laws require you to give European Union visitors information about cookies used on your blog. In many cases, these laws also require you to obtain consent.

As a courtesy, we have added a notice on your blog to explain Google's use of certain Blogger and Google cookies, including use of Google Analytics and AdSense cookies.

You are responsible for confirming this notice actually works for your blog, and that it displays. If you employ other cookies, for example by adding third party features, this notice may not work for you. Learn more about this notice and your responsibilities.

Naturally I can't find any such information posted on any of my blogs, even those that don't have anything at all from a third party used behind the scenes.  Once I find it, I will post it here in the right hand column.  Until then, this will have to do.  I've found information stating visiting Blog gives your implied consent to being tracked by Google but I am not certain about that.  So if you are visiting from Europe or a European server, this will have to do for now.

Just be aware Google tracks your every move for their own purposes.  Sadly, the free software I use to run Blog is part of this system.  They have their tentacles into most of the Internet these days so it is going to be very hard for you to avoid being spied on.

UPDATE:  Martin, winner of today's Smart Cookie Award, suggests I visit Blog via it's UK server.  When I do, this is what I see--

Clicking on "Got It" will remove the notice at the top of the page forever.

If you have a Blogger blog and want to check this on your device, go to this place to check.

THANK YOU, MARTIN!

I'm not going to tell you what she says.  Go read it and then comment here or on her blog.
