Another Report from Chicago (ANG Seminar)

There are more reports (and updates) from our friends at the ANG Seminar in Chicago.  Melita's been shopping at Designers Desk--also known as the one shop I've move into to live in a heartbeat!

I've updated the article that includes the list of ANG exhibit winners.

NJNA has had lots of blogging about their chapter experiences in Seminar classes so I've updated that article, too.

Suzhou Style Embroidery

Yesterday we went to the museum with Karen--today we are visiting an art gallery in California with Laura.   The shop specializes in Suzhou style embroidery.

She saw a piece entirely in tiny French knots, and another with smudged edges created by layering small straight stitches done in random directions using various colors.  The effects are amazing.

This isn't really the kind of stitching we see often, but much could be used in needlepoint.  The next time you have a background to conquer, think of Laura and her trip to this amazing silk art gallery.

Evertites and Their Accessories

Have you been wondering why folks rave about Evertites? Nimble Needle has a nice posting about them as well as the various accessories that you can get for them.  In case you are interested in the magnets, the two different sizes fit different widths of the Evertites you own.

Update:  As Melita notes, any 3/32 inch hex key will work to replace the tool that comes with Evertites.
