Tips on Choosing Colors

It can be very hard to pick just the right colors for your stitching. Us painted canvas folks have colors chosen for us but sometimes I still have trouble finding shades that work well together. I thought you'd like to see what Trish Burr says about colors from the perspective of someone who specializes in the realistic embroidery called needle painting.

This isn't going to work for you if you need contrasting colors so that one pops off the background of another,  but the bulk of what Trish stitches is realistic so she needs colors to meld with each other.

Look What Joyce Found

The folks in Gay Ann Rogers' online classroom came up with a winner today--at least Joyce did. Check out this ripping tool with light AND magnifier!

Another student of Gay Ann's says these come in various colors but I haven't found any online photos of other colors.  I thought to myself that it might be too heavy to use for a long period but this review says not.

It seems to be on the more expensive side as seam rippers go but that's not saying much.  Seam rippers are cheap.  Not having to use them is priceless!
