Sandy Arthurs fourth book is scheduled for release in mid-August!  Shapes of Needlepoint IV:  Diagonals, Horizontals and Verticals is it's name and topic.

As if that's not enough, she has also created a Yahoo Group to post what she calls Stitch Samples.  There are templates for you to print out to start a stitch notebook and each week on Wednesday Sandy hopes to post a new stitch diagram for you to print out and add to your notebook after you stitch a tiny sample to attach to the page.   Follow the link to Yahoo to join the fun.

Mini Book Reviews

Nimble Needle has a new shipment of books in the shop and have posted a bit about them to help you decide if this is a book you want for your bookshelves. Books profiled include several from June McKnight, Father B's classic, Needlepointing in Your Nest, Trish Burr's Color Confidence, and Meredith Willet and Beth Robertson's book on Knots, Fur and Turkeywork.

A Day at the Royal School

The well-known South African embroiderer and teacher Hazel Blomkamp just got to spend a day at the Royal School at Hampton Court Palace. Once you stop swooning with envy, check out her report of what she saw and did.

Here's Hazel's website, which is worth a good exploration.  I particularly loved the Online Shop's Display option of a glass paperweight.  Wonder how much that would cost to ship to Chilly Hollow?
