Comparing the Lowery to the System Four

Floor stands cost as much as one of those big, expensive needlepoint canvases (before you add in the cost of the threads) so folks are always asking which is best. Sadly, the answer is It Depends. It depends on whether you travel, the place you prefer stitching in, what size project you stitch most, things like that. Personal things!   But Kelly does take some of the mystery out of choosing between the Lowery and the System Four stand by showing both on her blog.  Put yourself mentally in her stitching chairs and you'll know better which will suit your stitching style and location.

It's still better to borrow one of these and try it out but many of us don't have a stitching friend we can borrow from, so I really appreciate Kelly's help.

I have a K's metal stand, by the way, and I love it!

I'm embarrassed to say that it never occurred to me to use the System 4 stand from the side! What a brilliant idea and I wouldn't have to wrestle with it every time I had to get up or re-arrange to accommodate a poodle!

I also have the System 4 table/lap stand which comes with a curved piece. You can attached that piece to the floor stand for additional height.

Off to try it from the side now. I'm so excited... it's a whole new world today! Thank you!

Sky, don't be embarrassed. We all put our heads together here, and Kelly just happened to mention something helpful to you. We can't think of everything, after all, unless there are a lot of us brainstorming. So let's salute Kelly and cross our fingers that this new position works for you.
