Belleza's Glamorous Twin

Bedecked and Beadazzled posted photographs from their Brenda Hart weekend class and guess who was among the canvases getting Brenda Hart's special touch? Belleza!  Yes, the Day of the Dead lady I've just put aside so I can finish a new design in time for the June trade show had a twin at Ruth Schmuff's shop.  Look how the back of the mirror has been changed!  I never would have thought to do that, but Brenda Hart is a genius.

I hope you enjoy glimpses of all the other great canvases folks were stitching but for me, Belleza's twin was the highlight of the show.

Queen Fever

Despite the American obsession with British royalty, the Diamond Jubilee celebration for Queen Elizabeth II hasn't really been on our radar here in Chilly Hollow. That's about to change for us needlepointers with a new Diamond Jubilee design from Candace Bahouth (distributed by Ehrman Tapestry).  You can see the new cushion design on page 2 of What's New, right under a crown cushion also by Bahouth  The link below goes immediately to page two, so if you are curious, don't miss going back to the first page to see all the new designs.   After all, there are two new designs by Beth Russell and the incomparable Kaffe Fassett on page one.

Kristine's Bead Essay

Kristine Kingston has added a new article to her Baltimore Needleworks blog. This one is on beads. It talks about how to use them on needlepoint, including lots of times on how best to secure beads.  If you want tips or just general bead information, you'll want to read this.
