Visiting Needlepoint Shops

Althea takes us to Salt Lake City on her latest Shop of the Week posting to visit Needlepoint and Other Things.

I wasn't familiar with the shop but there's a nice website to explore here.

Her next Shop of the Week is Next Station Needlepoint in Connecticut.  Sounds like a fun place!

Too bad I can't get most of its website to open. Maybe you'll have more luck?

The next stop is Kansas and Two the Point.  This is another shop without a website that I didn't know existed.

Donna's been on the road, too, first to a sampler exhibit, and then to two shops.  One is Fireside Stitchery, a place I've always wanted to visit.

Don't you wish you could go to all these places?

I was in SLC two weeks ago and visited Needlepoint and Other Things. I visited with the owner with whom I began stitching in the 70's! Patty Hoagland is a remarkable woman. The shop has an amazing variety of fibers and Patty remains a remarkable source of inspiration. Her stitching guides are phenomenal. Best of all she's now online and ships for free. She's always ready to demonstrate or offer advice. Just adore this shop.

Thanks for the ringing endorsement! It's always nice to know about a shop from Friends of Blog!

Please let Althea know that Next Station Needlepoint in New Canaan, CT closed at the end of 2011. I was unable to post to her blog. Also invite her to come and visit Suzie ( owner) at The Enriched Stitch in Wilton, CT ( about 7 miles away).

Durn, Nancy! I am sorry to her that Next Station is gone. But I am sure the next time Althea travels, she'll come see Enriched Stitch.
