Learn to Torture Thread

Hey, I'm just quoting Pocket Full of Stitches' latest blog entry about the Raymond Crawford Christmas collage piece they are going to teach. You can get a kit for this once it is finished if you aren't close enough to show up in class with your whips and chains.  The link below should show all the postings about the class.  There are plenty of detailed photos of all the cool techniques you will learn.

Not Your Regular Christmas Stocking

One of the drawbacks of those awesome needlepoint Christmas stockings (besides the fact that they are HUGE) is the expense and the time it takes to stitch them up. (Did I mention they are BIG?) Pocket Full of Stitches stocks an alternative in these stocking kits from Bucilla for making applique stockings embellished with felt and sequins and beads (and anything else you can think of).

MaryLu Leger Is Lost To Us

Creative Needle Canvas Stitched by Barb Cohen
I just heard that MaryLu Leger died suddenly a few weeks ago. Needlepointers in Arizona who took her classes will certainly be feeling the loss. The piece above was stitched in one of her classes. Isn't it amazing?  Here's a photo on the Tapestry Fair blog of another of her students working a piece under MaryLu's direction.  I think the background is gorgeous.

MaryLu will certainly be missed.

Occasionally I Get Lost in the Internet

And when that happens, I'm liable to end up almost anywhere! Here's my latest find--a Halloween pumpkin pin cushion and a tea box that would make a wonderful stitching tool container for your living room.
