Luna: Too Busy?

Cloak Lining
I've been stitching the cloak lining for Luna and run into a problem.  It's too busy!  Look at the pattern under her right arm.  It simply has too much movement for what needs to be textured but quiet.

Look at Either Side of Her Hair
So lately I've been searching for a replacement stitch.  I think this is the one but I'm not 100% satisfied....

It is very easy to fall in love with a stitch and not realize until you actually use it that it is not right for your current piece.  That's the situation I'm in.

If the replacement stitch is Encroaching Gobelin (?) I think it looks a lot better for the lining. Granted, it's nothing special as far as stitches go, but it does give a smooth look and shades well.

The replacement stitch is Knotted Stitch, which is very similar to the stitch you mention except each Knotted Stitch is tied down in the middle by a tiny reverse tent stitch.

I was going to suggest Sandy's Slide or one of its variations. LOVE the new, fresh look for the blog. I think NSH might need a fresh coat of paint, too. Hugs, Robin

Things that go bump in the night was an Amanda Lawford piece.

Robin, I get bored with the look of Blog periodically. I try not to mess with the layout but I do change the header photo and the colors, trying always to make things easy to read.
